The Original Fingerstyle Guitar Method To Make Your Audience Move!

If you’ve ever wanted to play great fingerpicking guitar accompaniments on the fly, this might be the best thing you ever read…

In the 1930s everyone was going crazy over a new music group – they just had to buy the records.

This group was The Carter Family, who were the first commercially produced country music group.

Their fame and success was due in fairly large part to the groundbreaking guitar style of ‘Mother’ Maybelle Carter, who would play the guitar in a way that combined rhythm/backing and lead/melody.

Maybelle Carter used to play the melody on the bass strings, while accompanying in between melody notes with a scratch style (sometimes called a ‘brush style’) of playing on the treble strings.

Her style had a huge influence on bluegrass music, country music, folk music, and even pop, rock, and jazz, believe it or not.

Unsurprisingly, the style of playing is therefore known as ‘Carter style’, in memory of Maybelle Carter.

Carter Style is a great way to play solo guitar, but it also works in a (usually small) group setting, and is characterised by a fairly strong driving force.

Aside from being fun to play, and a useful addition to any guitarist’s bag of tricks, learning Carter style has a number of other advantages:

  • It trains you to play fingerstyle with a strong and clear thumb  - essential in all fingerstyle
  • It strains you to think of the thumb and fingers of the picking hand as separate, which improves your coordination in all your playing
  • It’s easier to play than ragtime and other styles in which the melody is in the treble strings, so it’s a good ‘first step’ towards those

Anyway, here’s the good news:

I’ve just released a new ebook, called

Creative Fingerstyle Guitar: Carter Style

which covers everything you need to play Carter Style guitar quickly, easily, and creatively. Best of all, you’ll have fun doing it!

You can get this ebook for just $29 USD (a fifth of what you’d pay to learn it 1-on-1), so I’d say it’s worth it, wouldn’t you?

Just to be clear, though, this ebook has almost NO tab.

Why?

Because I want you to understand the principles, the ideas, and play from that, not imitate some transcription.

Also, there are NO refunds, and all sales are final.

If you can't commit, I can't help you.

So don’t say you haven’t been warned.
